Fashion:Women's Tops for the Fall

by Vanessa Valiente

With summer coming to a close you can’t help but start thinking about the fall season and the clothing it produces. If you are in the midst of the preview sales or if you caught the fall runways, you know that this coming season is full of separates in moody colors.

This August, when you are looking for modern and stylish outfits you will want to start with your top. Your face is the first element of you people see so the clothing closest to your mug are the most important.

A blouse to look into is the ever so comfortable loose top. When choosing a looser flowy top be sure to pair it with a fitted bottom like jeans, fixed shorts, a trim skirt or close fitting pants.

A popular loose shirt that could compliment your attire is the peasant blouse. Update this style with a modern pattern or some embellishments at the color that Tory Burch is famous for. A sleeveless peasant top or one with three quarter sleeves paired with some dark wash denim and chic flats will add a youthful breeze to any woman’s appearance

If you are feeling confident about your arms and décolletage thebreezy cotton tank is a great piece to add to your wardrobe for all seasons. During the tail end of summer with the heat still upon us, wear by itself to show off those hours you’ve put in at the gym.

In the fall and winter, when the temperature starts to drop, use it as a layering piece and throw it on before donning a fitted blazer or stylish jacket for those casual nights out. If you are feeling feisty snag a cotton tank that is covered in black, gold or silver sequins. The cotton underlay feels casual while the sparkle says your out to shine.

Although fabulous, the tank top may not be the best idea for the ladies who prefer to cover up. A shirt in a breezy shape that is just as sexy but with added coverage is one with full volume sleeves that ends at the wrist with an elastic hem. This top flatters most bodies if it sits at the high hip with a relaxed elastic band at its waist. Pair it with a sleek pencil skirt or slacks that grazes your body for the most attractive effect.

This style can also work with an asymmetrical sleeve; also know as the one sleeve top. Be a step a head of the crowd’s trends and start bearing your favorite shoulder. The contrast of full coverage and full exposure is a tantalizing sight. Although sexiest with a one long sleeve, a short sleeve or sleeveless look is still a pretty sight.

A more traditional shirt is the long sleeve button down top. A major staple in the office, this tailored bit can also make a smashing appearance after five. For a sharp and sexy look, tuck in a slim fit stiff or slinky button down into your jeans and finish the outfit off with some pointy heels.

In general there are only so many styles of tops. It is the details that place you apart from the outdated and background folk. No matter the style you situate on your body, be sure you have a touch of the modern edge about you.

Particulars that will sky rocket your style can be rather simple. Gathering or buttons at the shoulder seams, horizontal pleating across the torso, military accents, large silky bows at the neck, tassels, embroidery, sheer fabrics, lace or ruffles down the center front of your blouse and large fabric buttons or balls for closures are just a few stylish details to keep in mind when dressing for the season.

Other items that can be splashed across your top to spice up your image are feathers, jewels, stones, fringe, metallics, bronzy studs and 3-D textures.

Shirts you will want to steer clear of this season are sixties prints, fuddy duddy patterns, and styles made specifically for the mature demographic. Mature style has nothing to do with being stuck in khaki capris and boxy shapes. You will also want to stay away from the “pregnancy” top.

By all means if you are pregnant go to town, but this popular comport style simply makes you look …pregnant. Having the seam right below your bust is flattering but the jersey fabric billowing about your mid section is not doing many favors. Particularly if it the top in question has cap sleeves.

When in doubt picking out the right top for your outfit, think about what flatters your body and what is comfortable. The purpose of an úber stylish top is to feel sexy and have fun. Once you understand this goal stylish inclinations start to flow with little effort.
