Margarita Huerta, 31, known professionally as Margarita was born on July 23 in Harlingen Texas. She was introduced to music by a singing family including her uncle Baldermar Huerta who later become famous as Freddy Fender.

However, before she got a reputation as a musician she had established a reputation as an expert in the martial art of Tae Kwon Do beginning at age 5. Ultimately she won the Gold Medal in the U.S. Olympics Youth Competition and a Bronze Medal in the World Competition.

Her musical career began as a violinist while in high school and college. She then began to be a vocalist as well for the Mariachi Del Cielo in Corpus Christi.
